A discussion on different approaches to and experiences of quiet days facilitated by Mark Argent
Sometimes the contents of a quiet day are focussed on something specific — perhaps a theme, the work of a poet or artist, or the story of a person — and sometimes they explore something, perhaps what emerges from the readings for the day.
Sometimes travelling to a quiet day is an important part of the experience — taking time out and going to somewhere away from familiar distractions. Increased use of Zoom creates new possibilities for quiet days without the need to travel, where the invitation is to pray in a familiar place.
This evening will be an opportunity meet some of the URC Spirituality Core Group and to talk about different experiences of quiet days within the URC, and form part of the context for the event on “organising a quiet day”.
This event is free, but please book by clicking the “booking” button on the URC Spirituality website – https://urc-spirituality.org.uk/urcsp_event/whats-a-quiet-day/ so that we can email a Zoom link late in the afternoon of 11 September.
