Isaiah chapter 40, verses 30 to 31. ‘Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall, but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.’
One scripture that upheld Derek’s ministry calling is from 1 John chapter 1 verses 6 and 7.
‘If we claim we have fellowship with Him yet walk in darkness we lie and do not live by the truth. But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, so we have fellowship with one another and the blood of Jesus purifies us from all sin’
Derek’s long and loyal ministry is a testament to a life lived very closely to Jesus Christ and a witness to all who have heard him speak and known his pastoral love and care for his fellow people.
