United Reformed Church (Eastern Province) Trust
The Trust Company fulfils a vital role in the life of the Synod by acting as corporate Trustee of the Church Buildings and Manses on behalf of the local Churches. We are responsible for managing the disposal of redundant church buildings and manses and using the proceeds for mission work and to support the life of the Church. We also have a fund of investments arising largely from past sales the income of which pays for the Synod expenses, but which is now increasingly also being used for mission work.
Another role is to look after investments for a number of local churches as their nominee. We also act as Trustee for a number of ancient (17th century) trusts.
We are seeking new Trustees and we are well aware that our current make-up lacks the diversity to be representative of our congregations and communities. Therefore, we would encourage enquiries from a diverse range of genders and ethnicity.
The Trust meets four times per year, on a weekday, at the Synod office. (Zoom is possible.) Business is often conducted by email between meetings.
If you think you could serve in this way, please speak to me or any one of the current Trust Directors.
