Dear friends,
Our wonderful brother in Christ Revd Peter Ball died on 26th October following a diagnosis of cancer last May. Peter spent his whole ministry in Eastern Synod serving Sawston (1994-2008); and Little Abington & St John’s, Ipswich (2005-08).
Following his time in local church ministry he then became the Synod Training & Development Officer (2008-17) before taking on the role of Tutor and Director of Church Resource Development at Westminster College (2017-23). He was a much loved Minister in his local churches where he encouraged them in their discipleship and outreach to the wider community. This then shaped his wider roles within the Synod and Westminster College and has been such a positive influence on the lives of lay and ordained alike within the whole United Reformed Church. Peter was always known for his positivity, bringing joy into every room and enabling people to know how much they were loved by God.

A thanksgiving for Peter’s life will be held on 18th November 2025 2pm at St John’s URC, Ipswich. All are welcome. Details of parking and livestreaming will be made available nearer the date.
