We are delighted to share that Rev’d Janet Sutton has been appointed to the North Cambridgeshire Ecumenical Mission Partnership.
This Ecumenical post seeks to embody the Principles of Mission Partnership to LEPs already served by ecumenical partners: Hunstanton (Baptist LEP); March (Methodist LEP); Chatteris (Baptist/Methodist LEP); Newmarket (Methodist LEP); and the role of Cambridgeshire Denominational Ecumenical Officer.
We are excited by the idea of being able to offer added URC Ministry into a geographical area that has been neglected due to the geographical constraints and a role that has capacity to help to develop new projects or ecumenical projects in new communities. It is hoped through investing ministry in this model (offering a URC minister to offer partial support to many LEPs) lessons can be learned that can be applied in other areas of the Synod so that other LEPs within Mission Partnerships could be supported.
Janet brings to the role a wealth of ecumenical, mission development and pioneering experience. We wish her every blessing as she prepares to take on this role in January. The intention is to mark the beginning of this role in each place and to formally induct her during March Synod.
