Mission Partnership Update and Resource Opportunities
The Eastern Synod is pleased to announce that the first Mission Partnership has been formed, following four church meetings which took place on July 14th. This partnership will be known as the Norwich Area URC Mission Partnership and will consist of Ipswich Road URC, Jessopp Road (St Peter’s) LEP, Wymondham URC and Wroxham URC.
The discernment process for this decision was helped by the input of Rev Alex Jacob who worked with the congregations from November 1st 2023 in his role as Synod Transitional Minister (Mission Partnerships). From October 1st and for the next 6-8 months Alex will be available in his Synod role to any minister, eldership team, congregation and potential Mission Partnership to help them on their ‘journey of discernment’ as they engage with the invitation to establish a Mission Partnership. Alex will be available to preach, lead worship, explore mission strategies, facilitate discussion, chair meetings, help with prayer initiatives and provide teaching. In terms of his teaching ministry, he has chosen to focus recently on discipleship and some of this teaching has been published in his new book which is available from Christian Publications International (online bookshop).
