We’re pleased to invite you to the next webinar in our learning series: Faith & Climate Action: Sharing Learning from Birmingham for Councils & Communities – taking place online on Wednesday 15 July, from 1-2pm – register for free here.
The session will explore how councils, local organisations and faith communities can work together to reduce energy use, lower bills and support practical climate action through trusted community networks.
We’re pleased to share that speakers will include:
· Dr. Qiam, Adam Mosque – sharing learnings from setting up an energy saving club through Friday sermons at a local mosque
· Jason Horner, Eco Birmingham – insights from supporting faith communities to reduce energy use and bills
· Toqueer Quyyam – exploring approaches to engaging hardly reached communities on energy bills

Join the New Thurrock Environmental Network
Thurrock CVS is working with Community Energy Pathways (CEP) and Thurrock Council to establish a new Thurrock Environmental Network, bringing together voluntary, community organisations and businesses with a shared interest in environmental sustainability and community involvement.
With support from CEP’s specialist expertise in community energy, partnership development and environmental mapping, the network will help strengthen collaboration across the borough and contribute to Thurrock’s wider climate ambitions.
Organisations with an interest in environmental sustainability are invited to help shape a new Thurrock Environmental Network.
We want to connect with organisations working in Thurrock interested or involved in:
- Skills and green jobs.
- Food sustainability.
- Nature recovery and biodiversity.
- Energy and community energy.
- Sustainable travel.
- Groups that fall outside of the first 5 areas, but want to join a sustainability focused network and collaborate with different sectors.
The network will help identify new partnerships and future funding opportunities to support environmental projects, improvements to community assets and improving the health and wellbeing of people across Thurrock.
