Discipleship Development Large Grant deadline

The URC’s Discipleship Development Large Grant next deadline is near! All applications need to be in by 30 June. (The decision-making group meets every quarter – the next deadline is 30 September.)

Applications can be made by churches, synods or other recognised groups within the URC. Grants of up to £5,000 are awarded to develop lay discipleship development, and projects can be supported for up to three years. Applications may need endorsement from your synod or relevant General Assembly committee.

How is the money used? Previous applications include:

  • commissioning an artist to produce a set of Stations of the Cross that reflect the church’s commitment to pursuing racial justice
  • a missional discipleship initiative to create a culture of invitation among the churches
  • to fund an intergenerational conference
  • to run a Leading your Church into Growth conference
  • supporting a Church Quiet Day Retreat
  • appointing a discipleship development worker

If you are unsure about whether an application meets the criteria, please contact the Deputy General Secretary (Faith in Action) on jenny.mills@urc.org.uk
